What are Mono Ringtones?Mono ringtones are the standard form of tone for mobile phones. They are characteristically "bleepy" due to the fact they can play only one note at a time (unlike polyphonic ringtones) and quite often can end up sounding very different to what they are supposed to be. However, mono ringtones do have certain advantages. For one, they are easier to hear over background noise than polyphonic tones, they can also be sent & received by standard SMS text message meaning you can share them unlike polyphonic tones. Many Nokia phones also come with a built-in composer meaning the musically adept can create their own free of charge. See also: |
